Eye-Area Skin Care Guide
Small white bumps can have different causes. Assessment comes before removal.
“There is a tiny bump under my eye. Can I press it out?” Its colour and size in the mirror are not enough to identify it.
Hello from Mason Clinic, near Exit 7 of Sinnonhyeon Station in Seoul. Here are some points to consider before trying to remove an eye-area bump at home.

Milia can appear as tiny white bumps on the eyelids or cheeks, but other lesions, including comedones and syringomas, can look similar. Avoid identifying them from photos or search results alone.
Notice whether a bump is under the eye or at the eyelid margin, and whether it is single or clustered. Similar appearances can still need different assessments.
A milium is a small cyst containing keratin, a skin protein. Treating every visible bump as an oil-filled pimple can lead to the wrong approach.
Use this explanation to understand why an assessment matters, rather than to diagnose yourself. Whether removal is appropriate can be discussed after the lesion is identified.
Pressing, scraping or puncturing a bump at home can cause scarring or infection. Do not try to remove it yourself, even if you think it is a milium.
Squeezing acne yourself is not recommended either. For a bump near the eye, avoid repeatedly touching it and focus on finding out what it is before choosing a removal method.
Using an eye cream does not by itself establish the cause. Note any new products, where you applied them, and whether stinging or itching accompanied the change.
Do not add exfoliating products or acne medicines around the eyes on your own to remove bumps. Check the directions and whether eye-area use is permitted; ask your prescriber about application sites for prescribed medicines.

Once milia are confirmed, observation or removal can be discussed according to symptoms and cosmetic concerns. Some resolve on their own, while others persist; clearance within a few days cannot be promised.
Seek a consultation if a bump persists or bothers you. Its location near the eye, type and number can affect the appropriate approach and precautions.
A red, hot, swollen eyelid, pain in the eye itself or changes in vision such as blurring should not be dismissed as a small skin bump. Seek prompt assessment from an appropriate service, such as an eye-care clinic.
Before your consultation, note when it started, changes in location or number, other symptoms and products used. Unfiltered photos can help you describe how it has changed.
At Mason Clinic, our consultation approach is to consider only what is needed, in the amount needed. Before rushing to remove a small bump, review its current condition and location.
Bring your product details and a record of changes. Appropriate medical care or removal options depend on your individual condition.
Before squeezing a tiny bump at home, find out what it is.
