A device or process used in heat-based procedures to lower the skin surface temperature, protecting the epidermis and reducing pain.
What the term refers to
The methods vary, including cryogen spray, contact with a cooling tip and air cooling. The purpose is to control things so that heat is delivered to the target depth while the surface does not become excessively hot.
