Aging & Wrinkles

표정주름

A wrinkle that forms when the muscles of expression move, as when smiling or frowning; also called an expression wrinkle.

What the term refers to

They readily form around the eyes, between the brows and on the forehead. When wrinkles that were visible only while making an expression are repeated, they can progress into static wrinkles that remain even when the expression relaxes.

Good to know

Dynamic and static wrinkles call for different approaches. The two are often mixed together, so a step of separating out the condition is needed.
